Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 1, 2026.
This Privacy Policy explains what information is and isn’t processed when you visit Home Network Grid, who processes it, and what choices you have. The short version is that the site’s own features collect no personal information, the site uses no analytics, advertising or tracking, and the main processing that happens is the technical request handling Cloudflare performs to deliver and protect the site.
Who We Are and What This Policy Covers
In this policy, “Home Network Grid,” “we,” “us” and “our” refer to the operator of the website at homenetworkgrid.com. Home Network Grid is a static informational website about home networking, and it has no accounts, comments, newsletter, forums, uploads or active contact form. This policy covers the site at homenetworkgrid.com and the information processed when you use it. It does not cover websites, apps or services operated by others, even when we link to them. It also does not govern how Cloudflare or other providers handle information for their own purposes, which is described in their own policies. Cloudflare delivers and protects the site and processes certain request data in doing so, as described below and in Cloudflare’s privacy policy. This policy works alongside our Terms of Use and Disclosure. The effective date of this policy is October 1, 2026.
Summary of Our Practices
The site’s own code sets no cookies. The site does not use analytics, tracking pixels, session recording, advertising or advertising measurement. The site has no accounts, comments, newsletter, forums, uploads or active contact form. Cloudflare processes request data, such as IP addresses, user agents and request metadata, to deliver and protect the site under its own policies, and it may set strictly necessary security or performance cookies. Your light or dark theme choice is stored in your browser’s local storage and stays on your device. Site search runs in your browser, and the site’s fonts are hosted on the site itself. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. The site lists a public email address, but email receiving for that address has not yet been set up and verified. Each of these points is explained in more detail below.
Information We Collect and Process
This section describes information you might provide, information processed automatically when you visit, and information from other sources.
Information you provide
Home Network Grid has no feature that asks you to enter or submit personal information. There are no accounts, registrations, comments, reader reviews, forums, file uploads, newsletter sign-ups, surveys, purchases or payments on the site. The contact form on the Contact page is turned off at launch because its spam protection and mail delivery have not been configured, so the site does not accept form submissions. The site publishes the email address hello@homenetworkgrid.com, but email receiving for that address has not yet been set up and verified. That means we cannot currently confirm that messages sent to the address reach us. If email receiving is activated and you send a message, we would receive the information you include, such as your email address, any name shown in your email settings or message, the subject line, the message content, any attachments, and technical header information that email systems add. Please do not send passwords, Wi-Fi keys, public IP addresses, account numbers or other private or sensitive details, even when asking about your network.
Information processed automatically
When you visit, your browser sends requests to the site, and Cloudflare, which serves and protects the site, processes information contained in those requests. That information can include your IP address, your user agent, which describes your browser, operating system and device type, and request metadata such as the address of the page or file requested, the date and time, and other technical details your browser sends. Cloudflare may also evaluate requests using security signals to detect attacks, abusive bots and other threats. Cloudflare processes this information under its own policies, and its retention periods are set by Cloudflare rather than by us. We have not configured analytics or log retention in the site itself, and the site’s own code does not record, store or transmit visitor information. We do not use request data to identify individual readers or to build profiles of them. When you use site search, your browser downloads a static search index file from the site and searches it locally. Your search terms are processed in your browser and are not sent to us by the search feature. Requesting the index file is an ordinary web request that Cloudflare handles like any other page or file request. The site’s fonts are self-hosted, so loading pages does not send requests to an outside font service.
Information from other sources
We do not buy personal information, and we do not receive personal information about readers from data brokers, advertising networks, analytics providers or social media platforms. The Facebook, X and Pinterest share links on article pages are ordinary links, and they do not send information about you to us.
Cookies, Local Storage and Similar Technologies
The site’s own code does not set any cookies.
Cloudflare may set cookies that are strictly necessary for security or performance, depending on the protections active for the site, such as cookies that help distinguish legitimate visitors from automated traffic.
Those cookies are set and controlled by Cloudflare under its own policies, and we do not use them to track you.
The site stores your light or dark theme choice in your browser’s localStorage under the key theme.
That value stays on your device, is not sent to us, and is used only so the site can show your preferred color theme on later visits.
You can remove it at any time by clearing site data for homenetworkgrid.com in your browser settings, after which the site will use its default theme.
The site does not use tracking pixels, web beacons, fingerprinting scripts, session-recording tools or advertising identifiers.
If the contact form is enabled in the future, it would load Cloudflare Turnstile from challenges.cloudflare.com to help block spam, and Turnstile would process information about your browser and device under Cloudflare’s policies.
Turnstile is not loaded today because the form is not active, and this policy will be updated before or when the form is enabled.
Legal Bases for Processing
The site is directed to readers in the United States, where privacy laws generally do not require a website to state a legal basis for each processing activity. If you are in a place whose laws do require a legal basis, request data is processed because it is necessary to deliver the pages you ask for and to protect the site and its readers from abuse, which is a legitimate interest in operating a working, secure website. The theme preference is stored in your browser to provide a feature you choose, and it is not sent to us. If email receiving becomes active and you send a message, the information in it would be processed in order to consider and, where appropriate, act on your message. The site does not rely on consent for tracking, because it does not track readers. Cloudflare determines its own legal bases for processing it performs for its own purposes, as described in its privacy policy.
How Information Is Used
Request data processed by Cloudflare is used to deliver the pages and files you request, to keep the site fast and available, and to protect the site and its readers from attacks, abuse and automated threats. If email receiving becomes active, information in messages would be used to read and consider them, to respond where we choose to, to check and make corrections, to evaluate topic suggestions, and to deal with abuse of the address. The theme preference stored in your browser is used only to display your chosen theme. Information we hold may also be used or preserved where needed to comply with law, enforce our Terms of Use, or protect the rights, safety and security of readers, the site and others. We do not use personal information for advertising, retargeting, cross-context behavioral advertising, profiling, automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects, or building marketing lists. We do not combine information about you with information from other sources. If we begin using personal information for a materially different purpose, this policy will be updated first.
Advertising, Analytics and Tracking
Home Network Grid does not display advertising and does not work with any ad network. The site does not use analytics services, tracking pixels, session recording, heatmaps, advertising measurement, retargeting tags or embedded social media widgets. The site does not track your activity across other websites or over time, and it does not build interest profiles. The Facebook, X and Pinterest share links on article pages only open those services when you click them, and once you do, that service’s own privacy practices apply. Because the site does not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, there is no sale or sharing on our side for an opt-out preference signal such as Global Privacy Control to stop. You are still welcome to use such signals and other privacy tools in your browser. Some browsers send a Do Not Track signal, and because the site does not track readers across websites or over time, receiving that signal does not change how the site works. If analytics or advertising is ever added, this policy and our Disclosure will be updated before or when those features are enabled, including a description of the providers and any available choices.
How Information Is Shared
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are used in California law. We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes. Information is processed by service providers that make the site work, as described in the Third-Party Services section of this policy. Cloudflare processes request data to deliver and protect the site. If email receiving is activated in the future, the email service used to receive messages would process the messages it handles. We may disclose information we hold if we believe in good faith that it is required by law, subpoena, court order or other legal process, or that disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect the rights, property, safety or security of readers, the site, its owners, operators and contributors, or others. Because the site keeps no reader records itself, there is usually little or nothing for us to disclose, and requests for request data held by Cloudflare are handled by Cloudflare under its own policies. If the site, its domain or its content is transferred to another operator, any information we hold could be transferred as part of that transaction.
Third-Party Services
Cloudflare serves the site through its static asset hosting, delivers it over its network and protects it with security features, and in doing so it processes request data such as IP addresses, user agents and request metadata under Cloudflare’s privacy policy. Cloudflare may also set strictly necessary security or performance cookies, as described above. The site is built and deployed to Cloudflare by an automated publishing workflow. The site’s source code is stored in a private GitHub repository, whose own practices are described in GitHub’s privacy statement, and the pages you view are served by Cloudflare rather than directly from GitHub. Site images were generated with artificial intelligence through the Fal service and are served as files from the site. Facebook, X and Pinterest are involved only if you click a share link, at which point you are using their services under their own policies. Cloudflare Turnstile and an email receiving service are not active today, and this policy will be updated before or when either is enabled. We encourage you to review these providers’ policies, because they describe how each provider handles information for its own purposes.
Your Choices and Rights
Your browser gives you direct control over what is stored on your device. You can clear site data for homenetworkgrid.com to remove the theme preference and any cookies, and you can block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking Cloudflare’s security cookies may cause additional security challenges or prevent some pages from loading. If you turn off JavaScript, the theme toggle and site search may not work, but articles remain readable. Depending on where you live, privacy laws may give you rights such as the right to know about or access personal information, to correct or delete it, to obtain a copy, to opt out of its sale, sharing, targeted advertising or certain profiling, and to appeal a decision about a request. Whether those rights apply depends on the law in question and on whether that law applies to the site. Because the site’s own features do not collect personal information and the site keeps no reader records itself, we generally will not hold information that we can locate or provide in response to a request. Request data processed by Cloudflare is handled under Cloudflare’s own policies, and Cloudflare’s privacy policy explains how to contact Cloudflare about it. There is no formal rights-request system for this site. You may send a privacy request to hello@homenetworkgrid.com once email receiving is active, but until then we cannot confirm that a request sent there will be received. No identity verification process has been established, because the site keeps no reader records that a request could be matched against. Where applicable law allows an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf, the agent may use the same route. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any privacy right that applies to you.
How We Protect Information
The site is delivered over HTTPS through Cloudflare, which encrypts data in transit between your browser and Cloudflare. The site is static, with no database of reader information, no login system and no active forms, which limits the information that could be exposed. The site’s source code is kept in a private repository. The site has not undergone security audits and holds no security certifications. No website, network or method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Email is not always encrypted from end to end, so please do not send sensitive information by email.
How Long Information Is Kept
The site itself keeps no records about readers. Request data processed by Cloudflare is retained according to Cloudflare’s own practices, and we do not know specific retention periods for that data. The site’s source code and content are stored with GitHub according to GitHub’s practices, and those files are not used to store reader information. Your theme preference stays in your browser until you clear it. If email receiving becomes active, messages are intended to be kept only as long as reasonably needed to consider them, respond, make corrections, deal with abuse or meet legal obligations, and no fixed retention period has been set.
Children’s Privacy
Home Network Grid is written for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. The site has no features that collect information from children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe that a child has sent personal information to the site’s email address, you may write to hello@homenetworkgrid.com once email receiving is active, and any such message we are able to identify would be deleted. Until email receiving is active, we cannot confirm that such a request will be received.
Where Information Is Processed
Cloudflare operates a global network of data centers, and requests to the site are handled at Cloudflare locations that may be in a different state or country from where you are. Cloudflare may also process data in other locations for security and operational purposes, as described in its own policies, including its approach to international data transfers. GitHub stores the site’s source code in its own infrastructure under its own policies. If you visit from outside the United States, information in your requests may be processed in countries whose data protection laws differ from those where you live. This policy does not describe any international transfer safeguards beyond those the providers themselves describe.
Links to Other Websites and Share Links
Our pages link to manufacturers, standards bodies, internet providers, software projects and other external websites. When you follow a link, you leave Home Network Grid, and the other website’s privacy practices, cookies and tracking apply instead of this policy. Article pages may show share links for Facebook, X and Pinterest that only open those services when you click them. If you use a share link while signed in to one of those services, that service may associate the shared page with your account under its own policies. We do not control and are not responsible for the privacy practices of external websites, so please review their policies before providing them with information.
California Privacy Rights
The California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, applies to businesses that meet certain thresholds, and this section is not a statement that the law applies to Home Network Grid. It is provided so that California residents can understand how the site’s practices relate to the categories that law uses. When you visit, identifiers such as IP addresses and internet or other electronic network activity information such as user agent details and request metadata are processed by Cloudflare, directly from your browser, to deliver and secure the site. If email receiving becomes active, identifiers such as email addresses and the contents of messages you choose to send would be received for the purposes described in this policy. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, including personal information of consumers under 16, and we have not done so. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about anyone, and we do not offer financial incentives tied to personal information. California residents may have the right to know about, access, correct and delete personal information and to be free from discrimination for exercising those rights, and requests can be made as described in the Your Choices and Rights section of this policy. Under California Civil Code section 1798.83, California residents may ask about disclosures of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes, and Home Network Grid makes no such disclosures. The Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control explanations in the Advertising, Analytics and Tracking section of this policy describe how the site responds to browser privacy signals.
Other State Privacy Rights, Including Nevada
Several other US states, including Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas and Oregon, have comprehensive privacy laws that apply to businesses meeting certain thresholds, and this section is not a statement that any of those laws applies to the site. Home Network Grid does not sell personal information, does not process it for targeted advertising, and does not use it for profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects. If a state law that applies gives you rights to access, correct, delete or obtain a copy of personal information, or to appeal a decision about your request, you can use the route described in the Your Choices and Rights section of this policy, subject to the current email limitations. Nevada law allows Nevada consumers to ask website operators not to sell certain covered information, and Home Network Grid does not sell covered information. Nevada residents may still send such a request to the site’s email address once email receiving is active. If you live outside the United States, the laws of your country may give you additional rights, and you may also contact your local data protection authority.
Changes to This Policy
This policy will be updated when the site’s practices change, for example if email receiving is activated, a contact form is enabled, analytics or advertising is added, or hosting arrangements change. The policy will be updated before or when such a feature is enabled. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page shows when the policy was most recently revised. The site does not operate a mailing list, so changes are made by updating this page rather than by sending individual notices. We encourage you to review this page from time to time.
Contact and Complaints
The public contact address for Home Network Grid is hello@homenetworkgrid.com. Email receiving for that address has not yet been set up and verified, so we cannot currently confirm that privacy questions or requests sent to it will be received or answered, and we do not offer response times. The contact form on the Contact page is turned off at launch, and the page currently shows the email address only. For questions about request data processed by Cloudflare, you can use the contact routes described in Cloudflare’s privacy policy. If you have a concern about the site’s privacy practices, you may also contact the Federal Trade Commission at reportfraud.ftc.gov, your state attorney general, or, outside the United States, your local data protection authority.
